A wasiyyah your executors can actually carry out
An Islamic will divides your estate into fixed shares. Your executors cannot distribute an eighth or a sixth of an estate they cannot find.
Glenvault keeps your will, your asset register, your funeral wishes and your guardianship documents in one private, encrypted vault, with clear rules about who gets access and when.
The shares are fixed. The estate must be findable.
Under Islamic inheritance, the estate is distributed in fixed proportions among the rightful heirs. That maths only works on a complete estate. Every account, every property, every pension, every debt owed and owing.
In practice, this is where families struggle. Not with the shares, which the will sets out, but with the inventory. A pension from an old employer nobody knew about. A bank account in another name format. Money owed to the deceased that no one can evidence. Debts that must be settled first, undiscovered until late.
An incomplete inventory does not just slow probate down. It means the distribution your will commanded cannot be carried out as intended.
Everything the executors will need
The will. Your wasiyyah, where the original is held, and which solicitor drafted it.
The full asset register. Bank and savings accounts, pensions, investments, property and the deeds, business interests, valuables. The complete picture the fixed shares will be calculated from.
Debts and obligations. Money owed and owing, since debts are settled before distribution. A place to record outstanding mahr, unpaid zakat, or fidya if applicable, alongside your own notes.
Funeral wishes. Burial wishes and arrangements, the mosque and the contacts to call first, recorded where your family will find them in the first hours, not days later.
Guardianship and family documents. Guardianship wishes for children, marriage documents, and anything your family would otherwise have to search for.
Every document is encrypted with its own key before storage. We cannot read the contents of your vault. Reminders catch expiring documents so the record stays current.
Clear rules, no silent releases
You decide who can request access to your vault and what happens if you stop responding to check-ins. Every request is logged, your chosen contacts are notified, and there is a waiting period during which you can cancel. Nothing is released silently, and nothing is released while you are here to say no.
You can name your solicitor as a trusted contact, so that when the time comes, your family's first call is to the person who drafted your will and knows your wishes.
Glenvault is not a will-writing service
A wasiyyah that is valid under both Islamic principles and the law of England and Wales should be drafted by a solicitor who specialises in Islamic wills. Glenvault does not draft wills and does not give religious or legal advice.
What we do is make sure that the will your solicitor drafted, and everything needed to carry it out, can be found by the people who will need it.
A UK company, built carefully
Glenvault is a trading name of Malden Ltd, registered in England and Wales (No. 11672272), ICO registration ZC165459. Your data is stored in the United Kingdom and encrypted per document before storage. Our security approach is documented in plain English at glenvault.com/security.
Amanah is a serious word, and we have tried to build like it.
Common questions
Does Glenvault decide or advise on inheritance shares?
No. The shares are a matter for your will, your solicitor and your scholars. Glenvault makes sure the estate those shares apply to is complete and findable.
Can family overseas be part of the plan?
Yes. Trusted contacts and requesters can be anywhere in the world, which matters for families with relatives abroad.
Can I record funeral wishes separately from the will?
Yes, and you should. Wills are often read after burial decisions have already been made. Funeral wishes in the vault are reachable in the first hours.
What does it cost?
There is a free tier for your first documents, and low-cost paid plans above that, listed on our pricing page.
What happens to the vault if Glenvault shuts down?
You are never locked in. Every vault can be exported at any time as a standard .zip that opens on any computer, without Glenvault. If we ever had to close the service, we would give advance notice and keep that export available throughout, so nothing depends on us being here.
